  1. @neapopica probably too much. Prune after the flowers fade, then leave it for 4-6 weeks. Once it has a lot of happy, new growth, you can repot. Or, if you really want to be safe, repot it this year after the flowers fade, then let it grow to EPIC BUSH PROPORTIONS, watch the amazing flower show next year, then prune it down.

  2. how do you get the tree to get that thick and old appearance ?? i received a azalea as a gift in a pot, and i want to make a bonsai out of it. It’s full of flowers, can i prune it after the flowers fade, and still change the soil and the vase …then or is it to much for it ???
